"ZAGORE" industrial zone together with Stara Zagora Municipality participates in the international exhibition for circular economy and energy "Forward Green 2023"

Industrial zone "Zagore", together with the Municipality of Stara Zagora, were part of the first international exhibition for circular economy and energy "Forward Green 2023", held at the end of last week in Thessaloniki. Bulgaria was an honored guest at the forum, which gathered more than 100 exhibitors from different countries. Our country was positioned with a national stand in which 33 associations, clusters, companies, municipalities, developing activities and working on projects in the circular economy, green transition, construction and other areas presented themselves. Among them were the Recycling Association , Water Association, Bulgarian Chamber of Construction, Automotive Cluster, Cleantech Foundation, RES Cluster Association, Union of Ecological Energy Producers, National Museum "Earth and People", companies, etc. Bulgaria presented its experience and good practices in the areas, focus of the exhibition, and through the participation of 16 Bulgarian speakers in the discussion panels of the accompanying international forum.

Stara Zagora was one of the few municipalities that participated in the forum, showing its business potential, thanks to the team of the "Investments" department - Rositsa Raykova, Veronika Petrova and Ivelina Nikolova, and the Industrial Zone "Zagore" - Radoslav Tanev and Antoineta Nikova. Experts from the "Transport, Cleanliness and Ecology" Directorate - Rositsa Koprivchina and Maria Vasileva - were part of the Stara Zagorje participation. They shared with those present a video and materials, revealing the economic progress of the city and the region, as well as the new electric buses, with which urban transport has been renewed. The Staro Zagora representatives were the only ones who took part in the accompanying forum on the topic: "Energy transition, renewable energy sources, hydrogen, biogas, biofuels, liquid biomass".

The event was opened by the president of "TEF-HELEXPO" Tassos Tsikas, representatives of the local government of Thessaloniki and the European Commission also gave a welcome, and on the Bulgarian side - Valentin Poryazov, ambassador of Bulgaria to Greece.
